S.R. Trading Company

We operate S.R. Trading Company from B-318-319-320 in Nehru Ground, which is right in the N.I.T. area. Having three units side by side gives us enough room to store everything we trade throughout the week. Nehru Ground is a very busy place, always full of people, rickshaws, and cars. It can be a bit of a headache to find a parking spot, but it’s where all the action is in this city. We don't have a polished corporate look or any fancy signage. Our space is filled with boxes, old ledgers, and the general smell of the market. We’ve been here for years, and we’ve seen the whole area change quite a bit as new buildings went up. It’s a trading business, so it’s all about buying, selling, and keeping track of our inventory. We don't use any fancy slogans or mission statements. We just open the shutters in the morning and start talking to the people who walk in. Some of our customers have been coming to this same spot for a decade or more. We know their names and how they like to do business, which makes things easier. It’s a very human way of working, with a lot of tea drinking and talking involved. We don't spend much time on fancy computers, mostly just keeping the books and making sure the stock is where it should be. It’s a bit messy sometimes, especially when a big shipment arrives and blocks the doorway, but we know where everything is.
