We are located at Plot No. 54 and 55 in the Balaji Complex. It’s a busy area in Sector 23, especially being so close to the New Balaji Dharm Kanta. If you see the trucks lined up for the weighbridge, you’re in the right place. Soni Steel & Traders has been operating out of Sanjay Colony for years. The shop floor is always covered in a bit of grit from the steel, and the sun hits the metal sheets in the afternoon, making it quite bright inside. We deal with a lot of local builders and small contractors who just need a few items for their projects. It’s a no-frills kind of place. We have a desk that’s seen better days, piled high with ledgers and old receipts. Sometimes the power goes out in the sector, so we just sit outside on the stools until it comes back on. Dealing in steel is heavy work, so we’re usually pretty tired by the end of the day. There’s a tea stall nearby that makes the best ginger chai, and that’s where you’ll find us most mornings before we open the shutters. We aren’t a giant company with fancy uniforms. We’re just guys in work clothes trying to get the orders filled. It’s noisy and dirty, but it’s what we do, and we’ve grown to like the rhythm of this colony and the people who live and work here.
