Our shop is on Saroorpur Road, right opposite Road No. 7 in the Saroorpur Industiral Area. It’s a bit of a gritty place, but it suits us. We do printing and graphic work, mostly for other businesses in the industrial area who need labels or signs. We have a couple of large printers that take up most of the floor space. They’re noisy and they make the room smell like ink and chemicals. The lighting isn't great, but we have some desk lamps for the detail work. We aren't designers in the fancy sense; we just take what people want and make it look decent on paper or plastic. The road outside is always under repair, it seems, so there’s usually a lot of dust blowing in if we leave the door open. We spend a lot of time cleaning the printer heads so the colors don't get streaks. Sometimes we stay late to finish a big run of stickers. We don't have a fancy lobby for customers, just a counter where they can drop off their files. It’s a bit messy with scraps of paper and rolls of vinyl everywhere, but we know where everything is. We just focus on getting the print right without making a big deal of it. The guys from the factory next door often come by to borrow tools or just talk. It’s a busy environment and we’re always looking for the next ink delivery.
