We occupy a few plots, from 41 to 46, right near the Government Press in the N.I.T. area. Having that much space is necessary because iron and steel take up a lot of room and they’re heavy to shift around. It’s a noisy business, but that’s what happens when you’re dealing with metal all day. We’ve been in this location for a long time, and being near the press makes it easy to give people directions. The yard is usually full of stock, and there’s always a crane or some machinery moving something. It’s not a place for clean clothes, that’s for sure. Our staff knows the trade well, and most have been here since the early days. We don’t go in for big mission statements or anything like that. We just make sure the steel is sorted and the weights are correct when someone buys. The N.I.T. neighborhood is quite busy, so there’s always something happening outside the gate. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit piled up on the desk, but we catch up eventually. It’s a straightforward operation. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. If someone needs iron or steel for a project, they know where to find us. We keep our heads down and focus on the daily tasks. It’s just how we run things here. There is always someone in the yard if you need help.
