Prabh Fabrication

I've been working at this shop in Plot P-224 for a good while now. It's tucked away in Dabua Colony, right near the masjid in NIT Faridabad. Most mornings start with the sound of the shutters going up and then the noise of the grinders starts shortly after. It isn't a quiet place by any means. There is always the smell of hot metal and welding smoke hanging in the air. We spend most of our time cutting iron bars or joining pieces for gates and window grills. The floor is usually covered in scrap metal and iron filings, so you have to watch where you step. It gets really hot in the summer, especially when the welding torches are going all day long. Sometimes we take a break when the call to prayer comes from the masjid nearby. It's just a regular fabrication shop where we get our hands dirty and try to finish the work on time. The neighborhood is busy, with people walking by and the occasional truck dropping off supplies. We don’t have a fancy office or anything like that. It’s just the workshop and the tools we use every day. If you are looking for us, look for the pile of metal frames outside. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done with the steel. It's a living and we've gotten used to the grime and the hard work.
