GAURI WOOD CRAFT

Gauri Wood Craft is located at 2 K/46 A, B.P., right across from the FCI Godown in the NIT area. Being opposite the godown means there are always big trucks moving around, so it can be a bit noisy and dusty outside. Our shop is filled with the scent of fresh timber and sawdust, which is something we’ve all grown to love over the years. We do a lot of different types of wood work here, from basic frames to more detailed pieces. It’s a small shop, and space is always at a premium with all the planks and finished projects waiting to be picked up. We don't have a big showroom; usually, what we are currently working on is what’s visible when you walk in. The floor is almost never completely clean because as soon as we sweep, more shavings hit the ground. It’s just the nature of the business. The staff here is more like a small family. We’ve worked together for a long time and everyone has their own way of doing things. We don't use a lot of fancy computerized systems. Instead, we rely on old tapes, pencils, and our own eyes to make sure things are straight. It’s a simple life, focused on making things out of wood that will last for a while. We just enjoy the work and the neighborhood. People from around NIT know where we are, and we like the familiar faces.
