Bhardawaj Tent House

The shop is right on the Delhi Mathura Road in Ballabgarh. We handle tents, chairs, and all that stuff people need for weddings or local functions. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. We spend most of our time loading and unloading trucks. The warehouse is full of folded fabrics, bamboo poles, and stacks of plastic chairs. It can get pretty chaotic when there are three weddings on the same day. We’ve been here for a while now. Everyone in Ballabgarh knows the road is always busy, so getting the trucks out on time is the hardest part of the job. I don't really have a fancy office. I just sit at a wooden desk with a big ledger where I write down the dates and names. Sometimes the fabric gets torn and we have to sit and patch it up. It’s not a glamorous business, but it's steady. When the season is off, we just clean things and wait for the next rush. I grew up around this. My family has been doing this kind of work for years. We don't promise anything crazy, we just show up and put the tents up. If it rains, we have to move fast. That's just how the tent business works here on the main road. It’s loud from the traffic outside, but we’re used to it. We have these big iron pipes for the frame. They are heavy and sometimes get rusty, so we have to paint them.
