Bharthana-Safal Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is over in Nagla Daulatpur, which is part of the Bharthana area. Meena Devi and Anand Singh are the ones who look after the main setup at their place. It’s a local effort through and through. We didn't want to keep doing things the old way where every farmer had to fight for themselves. So we started this company to help all the people living around here. It takes a lot of effort to keep track of what everyone is growing and when it’s ready. We spend a lot of time on our phones or just walking over to a neighbor's house to talk. It isn't like those businesses you see in the big cities. We don't wear suits or ties. Most days I’m just in my old clothes with a bit of mud on my boots from the field. We deal with the same crops we’ve always grown. The weather is the main thing we talk about every single day. If the harvest turns out good, then everyone is in a great mood. If the rain fails, we have to figure out a way to get through it together. It’s just us village people trying to make a decent living for our families. It’s a simple way of life, even if the work is hard. We don't have a mission statement, we just have chores to do and bills to pay.
