We've been working out of Tirwaganj for a while now, right near where Pramod Kumar stays. It's a group of us coming together to handle fish and poultry stuff. In a place like Tirwa Ganj, you mostly see people busy with their own small plots, so we decided to pool things together. Sometimes the weather is too hot for the birds, or the water in the ponds isn't quite right, but we manage. We aren't a big office with shiny glass doors. Most days, our boots are muddy and we're talking about feed prices or how the hatchlings are doing. It gets busy during the harvest times, and everyone around here knows everyone else. It’s hard work, and sometimes the electricity goes out when we need it most, but that's just how life is here. We focus on the daily chores and making sure the fish are fed and the chickens are healthy. It's simple work but it takes up all our time. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make a living in our village. There’s always someone around to help if things get tough.
