SHRI ANISH ECO BAGS

SHRI ANISH ECO BAGS is set up in Kumaran Plaza, which is right near the GH in Modakurichi. We decided to focus on making bags that aren't made of plastic because you see that stuff everywhere in the trash these days. Our workshop is full of sewing machines and large rolls of cloth and jute. It’s a simple setup where we cut the fabric to size and then sew the handles on. We aren't some giant factory. It’s just a few of us working together to get the bags finished. The plaza is a decent place to work, and being near the government hospital means there are always people moving around outside. We make bags of all sizes, some for groceries and some for bigger things. Sometimes the sewing machines act up, and we have to spend an hour fixing them, which is frustrating. We don't use any fancy marketing talk. We just make bags that people can use over and over again. The floors are usually covered in scrap pieces of cloth by the time we finish in the evening. Modakurichi is a nice place to live and work, and we like being part of the local community here. We just keep our heads down and keep sewing until the orders are done for the day. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy.
