Nalinisri Castings

You can find us at 44, Piliyar Koil Street, right inside the Karunambika Rice Mill Compound in Karatur. It’s a bit of a tucked-away spot, and since we share the compound with a rice mill, there’s always something going on nearby. At Nalinisri Castings, we deal with a lot of heat and metal. It’s a foundry, so it’s never going to be the cleanest place to work, but we like the process of making something solid out of molten material. Our crew is small and most of us have been working together for years now. We make various metal parts that go into machines or construction projects. Sometimes the orders are small, just a few specific pieces, and other times we are busy for weeks on a single large batch. The air in the compound smells like a mix of dust and hot iron most days. We don't really have a fancy office for meetings; usually, we just talk to people out in the yard or near the furnace. It’s hard work and the summers are especially tough with the furnace running, but we’re used to it by now. We just focus on getting the dimensions right and making sure the metal cools down properly before we move it. It’s a honest way to earn a living, and being in Karatur keeps us close to the local industries we supply. We just get on with the job.
