L. V. Tex

Our shop is at number 22 on Kamaraj Street. It’s a narrow street, and sometimes it feels like the whole neighborhood is squeezed into it. L. V. Tex is a small textile place where we deal with all sorts of fabrics. If you walk inside, you’ll see rolls of cloth piled up everywhere, sometimes even blocking the walkway. We spend most of our time measuring out meters of fabric and cutting them for customers. The sewing machines in the back are almost always running, making a steady thumping sound. It’s a bit dusty because of all the lint from the cloth, but we don't mind it. We’ve been on this street for years and we know all the other shopkeepers around here. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the materials well. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. People just drop in when they need something specific. There’s a small bench for people to wait on, but usually, it’s covered in sample books. We try to keep things organized, but when a new shipment comes in, the place gets pretty crowded. It’s a straightforward business, and we enjoy the daily routine of the shop. We usually close up early in the evening once the street starts to quiet down a bit.
