Kanaga Cements

We've been here at 2569 Rkv Road in Karungal Palayam for quite some time now. Most people around here know the shop because of the stacks of cement bags always sitting near the front. It’s a busy spot, and things get a bit dusty when the trucks come in to unload. Running a place like Kanaga Cements isn't exactly glamorous work, but it keeps us on our feet. My clothes usually have some grey dust on them by noon, but that's just part of the job. We don’t have a fancy office or a big waiting area. People mostly just pull up their vehicles, tell us what they need for their house or wall, and we get it loaded up. Sometimes it’s just two bags, other times it’s a whole truckload. Weather can be a pain, especially when it rains, because we have to move everything fast so it stays dry. We know the neighbors pretty well by now. If you're driving down towards Karungal Palayam, you'll see us right there. We don't spend much time on the computer or making flyers. We just open up early in the morning, sweep the floor, and start the day. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. Most of our regulars are local builders or guys just fixing up their own backyards. We try to keep things organized, though sometimes the yard gets a bit cluttered during a busy week. That's just how it goes here in this corner of the town.
