Gandhi R. C. C. Cement Pipe Works

You will find Gandhi R. C. C. Cement Pipe Works out on Poondurai Road. We are positioned right across from the Venkateshwara Kalyana Mandapam. It is a pretty well-known hall, so most people don't have trouble finding us. We make cement pipes here on site. It’s heavy, dusty work, but someone has to do it for the local construction projects. The yard is full of different sizes of pipes stacked up. We spend a lot of time outside moving things around with the crane. It isn't the quietest place to work because of the machinery, but we are used to it by now. The sun can be quite strong on Poondurai Road, so we try to get the heaviest pouring done early in the day. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. It is just a small room where we keep the ledger and the phone. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Usually, builders just know we are here across from the mandapam. We’ve been part of this landscape for a good while. Sometimes the traffic for the weddings across the street blocks our entrance, but we just wait it out. It is a simple, honest business. We make the pipes, people buy them, and that's the end of it. We keep things moving one day at a time, just like everyone else around here does.
