Uni-Chem Inc

The By-Pass in Kumbalam is always busy with trucks going up and down the highway. Our place, Uni-Chem Inc, is right there at 111/661. You can see the sign from the road, though it’s a bit faded now from the sun. We deal with various chemical supplies and materials. It’s a lot of drums and containers stacked up in the warehouse. The air always has a bit of a sharp smell, which you stop noticing after the first ten minutes. We don’t have an air-conditioned office; we just use the ceiling fans and keep the doors open for a breeze. It’s a simple setup. We spend the mornings checking the stock and the afternoons loading things for transport. Sometimes the humidity makes everything feel heavy, but that is just how it is in this part of the country. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the orders go out correctly and that we don't mix anything up. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad unless the highway is blocked. We have a small kettle for making coffee, and that keeps us going through the long shifts. It’s a lot of physical work and paying attention to labels. We just keep our heads down and get the job done without any fuss. It’s not fancy, but it is honest work that keeps us busy every day of the week.
