Synthite Industrial Chemicals Ltd.

It’s a bit of a drive out to Pancode, but that’s where you’ll find our Spice and Ingredients Division. Being part of Synthite Industrial Chemicals Ltd means there is always something going on in the yard. Vadavocode is a quiet enough area until the trucks start rolling in during the early hours. If you walk through the main doors, the first thing you notice is the smell. It’s a mix of everything, really—peppers, turmeric, and things I can’t even name most days. It gets into your clothes and stays with you long after you go home. We spend a lot of time checking bags and looking at the grinders to make sure they are running right. The floor is usually covered in a fine dust from the day's work, and we spend a good chunk of the evening sweeping it all up. Some of the guys have been here for years and can tell which spice is being processed just by the sound of the machines. It’s not a quiet place to work, that’s for sure. We have our small tea breaks under the shade outside when the sun gets too hot in the afternoon. Most of the day is just routine, making sure the ingredients are moving through the lines like they should. It’s heavy work and it gets messy, but it’s what we do here in this corner of Kerala. We don't spend much time in offices; we're mostly out where the action is.
