The Word Star Tution Centre

You can find The Word Star Tution Centre on the first floor of the Kizhakkekara Building. We are located in the Ambadimoola area of Palachuvadu, which is part of Thrikkakara in Ernakulam. A good landmark to look for is the NGO Quarters, as we are right near there. The pin code for this part of town is 682021. We have been here for a while, just providing a place for kids to come after school. It’s a regular building and we have a few rooms set up for different subjects. It’s not very fancy, just some chairs and tables and whiteboards. We stay busy most afternoons when the local schools let out. The students walk over or get dropped off by their parents. Being on the first floor makes it easy to access without having to climb too many stairs. We like this neighborhood because it's mostly residential and fairly quiet compared to the city center. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit messy, but that’s just Kerala for you. We don't use much technology here, just pens and paper and talking through the lessons. It's a very traditional way of doing things, but it seems to work for the families around here. We know the parents and we see the same faces every day. It's just a small local tuition centre trying to help students get through their exams and homework. We are usually here until late evening finishing up.
