Our place is located at House No.6/537 A in Kunnathunadu Taluk. It’s right in Pattimatom Village, which is a pretty quiet area compared to the main city. We operate Phoenix Geodesy from here. Living and working in Pattimatom P.O. means we see a lot of green around us. It is quite different from the crowded parts of Ernakulam. The office is really just a functional space where we keep our tools and paperwork. We spend a lot of time dealing with maps and measurements, though the day-to-day is mostly just regular office work. Some days we are out in the field, and other days we are just sitting here at the house-turned-office trying to get through the files. The weather in this part of Kerala can be unpredictable, so we always keep umbrellas by the door. It’s a small team, so we all know each other well. We often share snacks in the afternoon when things slow down a bit. The address might seem a bit long when you write it out for the mail, but it’s easy to find once you are in the village. We aren’t a big corporate firm with a glass building. We just have our desks and our equipment in a place that feels like home. It’s a steady life here. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep our records straight. It works for us and keeps the stress down.
