Our office is on the second floor of the Carnival Infopark building, over in Phase I. It is in Kakkanadu, so the commute can be a real pain depending on the time of day and the traffic near the entrance. Asterisks Softwares Pvt.Ltd. isn't some massive glass-and-chrome place you see in movies. It is just a regular office with rows of desks and a lot of tangled cables under the furniture. The AC usually works, which is a relief in this weather. We spend most of our time typing away at keyboards. Sometimes the coffee machine breaks and the mood in the room gets a bit sour until it is fixed. We don't really do big meetings with fancy slides. Usually, someone just wheels their chair over to someone else’s desk to show them a bug in the code. It is pretty quiet except for the sound of clicking and the occasional heavy sigh when something isn't working right. Outside the window, you can see the other buildings in the park and people walking to the food court for lunch. We stay late quite a bit, mostly because we lose track of time or a project is being stubborn. It is just a group of people trying to make software that actually does what it is supposed to do. There is no magic to it, just a lot of sitting and thinking. If you are looking for us, just take the lift to the Iind floor.
