Aalookus Bricks & Tiles

We are Aalookus Bricks & Tiles, located in Keezhillam, which is under the Prumbaoor Mandal. It’s a bit of a drive out here, but it’s a good place for a brickyard. We have plenty of space to set out the tiles and bricks to dry. We’ve been working in this area for several years. The local people know us well. We aren't just about bricks; we do tiles too, which keeps us busy. The process is slow and depends a lot on the sun. My family has been in this trade for a long time. We learned it from our elders. The yard is usually quite messy with clay and water, but that’s just how it goes when you’re making things from the earth. We have a small office that’s mostly used for storing some samples and having tea. We don't really follow a strict schedule. We start when the sun comes up and stop when it gets dark. Sometimes neighbors drop by just to talk about the local happenings. It feels more like a community spot than a business sometimes. We don't use any high-tech machines, just the old ways that have worked for us. It’s a lot of physical labor. We are tired by the end of the day, but it’s a good kind of tired. We just want to keep making our products and serving the people in Prumbaoor. It’s a quiet, steady way of life and we wouldn't change it.
