Our location is out in Gadra, which is a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the main parts of Jamshedpur. We are situated via the Telco Works, so there’s always a lot of heavy vehicles and industrial movement around this area. It feels very different from the residential parts of town. Here, you can hear the hum of the works nearby and see the smoke from the stacks in the distance. The office is a straightforward building, nothing too flashy about it. We have a post office right here in Gadra too, which makes some things easier. Life here follows the rhythm of the shifts. When the whistles blow or the shift changes, the whole road gets busy for thirty minutes and then it goes quiet again. We’ve got a small team here, and we mostly know each other's families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. It’s the kind of place where you leave the windows open to catch a breeze, even if a bit of coal dust comes in with it. We don't worry too much about the small stuff. We just make sure the work is done and the gates are locked at night. The East Singhbhum area is rugged, but it’s where the real work happens. It’s been this way for years, and we’re just continuing what started a long time ago in this corner of Jharkhand. We drink a lot of tea and get through the paperwork together.
