We’ve been operating here in the 793002 zip code for a while, handling both the people who sit down to eat and the catering orders that go out to different parts of town. The building is an old one, and we occupy a space that’s seen a lot of history. On rainy days in Shillong, the restaurant gets filled with people trying to stay dry while they have their lunch. Our catering side keeps us on our toes too, often loading up vans with big containers of food to head out to local events or offices. It gets pretty hectic in the mornings when we are prepping for both the dining room and the deliveries. We have a small team of cooks and helpers who know the routine well. The steps up to the building can be a bit steep for some, but once you’re inside, it’s just a plain room with enough chairs for everyone. We don’t do anything fancy with the walls or the menu cards. It’s a local business run by local people.
