New Work Restaurant

If you spend any time around Laitumkhrah Police Point, you’ve probably seen our sign. We are tucked in there near Red Hill Road. It’s a pretty lively area in Shillong, and we get all sorts of people coming through. Students, office workers, and people just out for a walk. We started New Work Restaurant to give people a place to sit and have a meal that feels normal. The space isn’t huge, but we make it work. Some of the chairs might creak a little, and the walls have been the same color for years. We serve what we know how to cook. It’s nothing like those big chains you see in malls. It’s more like eating at a friend's place where you don't have to worry about how you look. The weather in Shillong can get cold, so we try to keep the place feeling warm. Sometimes the kitchen gets a bit backed up when the lunchtime crowd hits all at once. We do our best to keep up. Most of the people working here are from around the neighborhood. We know the shortcuts and the local news. It’s just a regular restaurant on a busy corner. No fancy decorations or anything. Just some tables and good enough food to get you through the day. We're glad to be part of this little patch of Laitumkhrah. The windows look out onto the street so you can watch the traffic while you eat.
