Green Field School International

Our place is located in Vakada, which is in the East Godavari district. It’s a bit away from the main city noise, which is quite nice for a change. The address is simple, just Vakada, 533462. Being in this part of the country, we are surrounded by a lot of green fields, which is probably why the school was named that. The air feels a bit different here than it does in the bigger towns nearby. The school building is pretty straightforward and doesn't have any unnecessary trimmings. We have a big open area where the kids run around during their lunch hour. It gets quite muddy when the monsoon hits East Godavari, and we spend a lot of time telling students to wipe their feet before they come inside the building. The classrooms have big windows to let in the natural light. We don't have those fancy central AC systems, just regular ceiling fans that hum all day long. Most of our staff comes from the nearby villages, so everyone knows each other well. It’s a friendly sort of place to work. You might see a stray dog sleeping near the gate or some birds nesting in the roof rafters. We just do our work and look after the children who come here. It’s a quiet life out here in Vakada, and we like it that way. No one is in a huge rush to get anywhere, though we do keep to our daily schedule.
