Shri Karni Engineers & Fabricators

Shri Karni Engineers & Fabricators operates out of MCF-15 in the Vardaan Apartments building at 64, I.P. Extension. It is a bit of an unusual spot for a fabrication business since it is an apartment complex, but we have our designated workspace there. It is not a huge factory floor, so we have to be very careful with how we use the space. We do a lot of welding and metalwork. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise, so we try to do the loudest jobs in the middle of the day. The shop is filled with scraps of metal, welding masks, and various hand tools. We have got a small workbench where we do most of the precision cutting. It is usually just two or three of us working at a time. The air smells like burnt metal most of the time. We do not have a fancy showroom. If you want to see our work, you just have to look at what is currently on the floor. We handle a lot of small custom jobs for people in the area. It is a lot of measuring, cutting, and joining things together. We use a lot of chalk to mark out designs on the floor. It is a bit of a messy process, but we try to sweep up at the end of the day. We have been doing this for a long time, and we know our way around a piece of steel. It is just a practical shop.
