Our shop is Shop No-2, located at B-8/695. We are tucked into Gali No-2, right on the Krishna Mandir Marg in Ganesh Nagar-II. It’s one of those narrow lanes where things can get a bit crowded when two carts try to pass each other. We spend our days surrounded by shelves full of medicine bottles and boxes. There is a specific smell to a chemist shop, a bit like alcohol and paper, and we are used to it now. Being near the Krishna Mandir means we can hear the bells and the prayers sometimes, which is a nice break from the noise of the street. We stay open late because people always seem to need something after the sun goes down. The counter is a bit high and has scratches from all the years of people sliding change across it. We don't have a lot of room to move around behind the desk, but we know where every single box is kept. It’s a lot of reading labels and checking dates to make sure everything is right. The neighbors in Ganesh Nagar-II are mostly familiar faces, so we end up chatting about the weather or the traffic more than anything else. It’s a quiet kind of responsibility, making sure people get what they came for. The Gali is always busy with kids playing or people walking to the temple.
