You’ll find Kalingia Illumination Pvt Ltd at Plot No A-2 in the Dsidc Complex. This is part of the Jhilmil Industrial Area near Shahdara, right off the G.T. Road. It’s a busy place with a lot of small manufacturing units and workshops all squeezed together in the complex. Our building is usually full of lights and electrical parts. We spend most of our time assembling things or checking the quality of the illumination products we handle. It can get pretty loud with the machinery from the neighbors, but that’s just life in Jhilmil. The office part is just a few desks tucked away in the corner where we keep the books and take orders. We’ve been here long enough to know all the other business owners on the block. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to make us look "professional" in the corporate sense. We just wear our work clothes and get grease on our hands sometimes while testing the fixtures. The G.T. Road is always jammed, so getting parts delivered can be a real headache, but we manage somehow. We aren't doing anything fancy; we’re just making sure the lights work and the orders go out to the shops that need them. It’s a straightforward, blue-collar kind of workplace, and we wouldn't have it any other way. It’s just how we do things here in Shahdara.
