Job Squares

You will find Job Squares over in the Jhilmil Industrial Area in Shahdara, specifically at B 58. Being in an industrial area means there is always the sound of machinery or trucks moving in the background. It is a gritty part of town but it is where the work happens. Our office is a basic unit where we focus on employment and job placements. We have several desks and a lot of notice boards where we pin up information. People come in looking for opportunities, and we spend our time trying to help them out. It’s not a polished environment. The floor is concrete and the furniture is old, but it serves the purpose. We have been at B 58 for a good while and have seen many people come through these doors. Shahdara is a huge area, and Jhilmil is one of those spots that feels very industrial and productive. We try to keep things simple and don't use any complicated systems. Mostly it is about talking to people and understanding what they can do. The light in the afternoons hits the office at a weird angle so we usually have to pull the blinds. It’s a very practical space for what we do, and we don’t spend much on decorations or fancy rugs. Most of our day is spent either on the phone or typing up notes from the people who come to visit us at the shop.
