Jai Durga General Store

We have been running Jai Durga General Store for quite a few years now in Kailash Nagar. Most people know Gali No 12 because it is always busy, and our shop at 2394 is right there where the foot traffic is heaviest. It is just a regular place where we keep the usual things people need for their homes. Every morning starts about the same way. We get here early to pull up the metal shutters and sweep the front step. Dust gets everywhere in this part of town so you have to keep at it. Inside, the shelves are pretty packed with containers and packets. Sometimes it is hard to find something specific if a customer asks for a brand we don't move often, but usually, we know where everything sits. The neighborhood is loud. You hear the scooters and people talking all day long. We have a small fan that hums in the corner which helps when the afternoon heat kicks in. Dealing with the distributors is probably the most tiring part of the job because they come at odd hours and the delivery trucks block the lane. But that is just how business goes here. We don't do anything fancy. It is a simple setup with a counter and some ledgers where we keep track of things. People stop by on their way home from work to grab a few items. It stays like that until we close up for the night and go home ourselves.
