Daily Awam - E-Hind

Our place is at 3/133 Lakshmi Nagar, right near Lalita Park. It’s a really crowded area of Delhi. You can hear the sounds of rickshaws and people talking all day long outside our window. We run a news operation called Daily Awam - E-Hind. It’s mostly just us sitting at desks with newspapers spread out and computers humming. The office is small and a bit cramped because we have so many files and old editions stacked up in the corners. We aren't trying to be a big TV station or anything like that. We just like reporting on what’s happening. Every morning is a bit of a scramble to get things ready for the day. We talk to people on the street and try to get the story right. Sometimes the tea guy forgets our order, or the internet goes slow, but we manage. Lalita Park is a good landmark if you’re trying to find us. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now. The walls have some marks on them and the furniture is pretty old, but it’s home to us. We don’t have a big team of editors. It’s just a few of us who care about the news. We work late quite often because things happen at odd hours. It’s not a job for someone who wants a nine-to-five, I suppose. We just keep typing and talking until the day's work is finished. It’s busy and loud, but that’s just how Lakshmi Nagar is.
