Acc ( Holcim India)

We are over here at D-24 in the Acc Limited area of Jamul. If you know Bhilai, you know this part of Durg is all about the industry. The weather in Chhattisgarh can be brutal in May, but we just keep the fans going and stay busy. Our office is pretty basic. We handle things for Acc ( Holcim India) and it’s mostly about coordinating between the plant and the guys who need the cement for their buildings. There’s always a lot of dust in the air, but you get used to it after a week. I spend a lot of my time on the phone or talking to the guys in the yard. It isn't a corporate setup where everyone wears a suit. We wear boots and plain shirts because things get messy. Most of our neighbors are also working in the same trade, so we all know each other. Sometimes the gate gets blocked by a trailer, and we have to go out and sort it out. It’s just how things go around here. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. The building is a bit old, but it does the job. We don’t have a lot of fancy brochures, just the logs and the delivery notes. It’s a practical way to run things, and it works for us and the locals who have been buying from us for years.
