We’ve got unit 41 in the Industrial Estate. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a place like this—lots of metal, some noise from the neighbors, and trucks coming in and out at all hours. We deal in steel, so there’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving things around with the crane when it’s working right. The yard can get pretty dusty, especially in the dry months, and everything seems to have a thin layer of grime on it, but that’s just part of the steel business. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. Usually, we’re just sitting at a beat-up desk near the front, keeping track of the weights and the deliveries. Folks come to us when they need specific beams or sections for a project they’re working on. We don't do any big sales pitches. People know what they want, they ask for the price, and we see if we can make it work. Some days we’re busy from sunrise to sunset, and other days we’re just sitting around waiting for the next truck to show up. It’s a simple life. We’ve been in the estate for a good long time, so we know most of the other shop owners around here. We just try to keep the steel moving and stay out of trouble. There’s nothing fancy about what we do at Siva Balaji Steel, just straightforward trading.
