Our company is based in Village Todpura, specifically at Munshi’s place. He’s the son of Tota Dhobi, and everyone in the village knows where that is. We are a group of farmers from the Bari tehsil area in Dholpur. Most of us have small plots of land where we grow whatever the season allows. Setting this up was a way for us to not get pushed around by the big buyers. We meet up under the trees or inside the small office area we have to talk about what we’re going to plant next. It’s a very local thing. We don't have fancy computers or a big staff. It's just us farmers looking out for each other. Dholpur gets very hot and the work is exhausting. Sometimes we share tools or help out on each other’s farms when someone falls behind or gets sick. The paperwork is always a bit of a headache, but we manage it together at the post Sanora location. There is always someone dropping by to ask a question or share some news about the markets. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation. We just want to make sure the folks in Todpura get a fair deal for their hard work. It's a quiet life for the most part, centered around the land and the people we've known forever. We eat our lunch together and talk about the kids and the crops. It's just how things are done here in our corner of Rajasthan.
