Southern Ferro Steels Ltd is out at 172, Dharwad Growth Centerbelur Industrial Area. It’s exactly what you’d expect from an industrial area. There’s a lot of gray, a lot of dust, and a lot of noise. We’re one of the many plants out here. Steel is heavy and it’s hard work. We spend our shifts around the furnaces and the stacks. It’s not the kind of place you’d come for a tour unless you really like looking at metal. The Dharwad Growth Center is a big place, and it takes a while to get from the main road to our gate. Everything out here is on a large scale. We have trucks coming in with raw materials and leaving with finished steel all the time. It’s a constant cycle. Most of the guys here are local, and we’ve worked together for years. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just make steel. The heat can be something else during the summer months, but you just get through it. We have a small break room where we eat our lunch and talk about the news. Then it’s back to the floor. It’s a practical environment. No one is wearing a suit here. We’re at 172, just doing our part in the industrial zone.
