Our place is out in the 2nd Phase of Tarihal, at 125/A. It’s an industrial area, so it’s not exactly the prettiest neighborhood, but it’s where the work gets done. You can hear the saws running from down the street most mornings. We deal mostly with granite slabs. The yard is full of them, stacked up and leaning against the metal frames. It gets quite muddy when we wash the stone down to show the colors to a visitor. We started this because we knew a bit about stone and there was a space available here. It’s a lot of manual labor, checking the edges for chips and making sure the polishing is even. We aren't a big fancy office. Most of the time, we are out back near the machines or talking to the drivers who bring the raw blocks in. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoon. We have a small office where we keep the paperwork, but it’s usually covered in a thin layer of grit. People come out here when they want to see the actual slab they are buying instead of a small sample. It’s a practical way to do things. We don't try to make it sound like more than it is. It's just us, the machines, and a lot of heavy granite. We’ve been at this for a while and we know the grit of the job. It is just honest work with some heavy materials.
