Dj Vicky Sound & Light

We’ve been running Dj Vicky Sound & Light from Jealgora No. 7 for a good while now. Our spot is right near Barari More in Dhanbad, so it’s easy for folks to find us when they need music for a wedding or some local function. It started with just a couple of speakers and a small mixer, but now we have enough light stands and bass bins to fill up a decent-sized ground. Most days you’ll see us testing the cables or checking if the LED lights are working right because nobody wants a fuse blowing in the middle of a party. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading the truck. It gets dusty out here in Jealgora, so we’re always wiping down the consoles. People just drop by the shop, tell us what they need, and we figure out a setup that works for them. Sometimes it’s a small birthday in a backyard, other times it’s a big procession through the streets. We don't have fancy office chairs or a front desk, just a lot of gear stacked up and some stools to sit on while we talk about the playlist. It’s loud work, but we like it. The neighbors are used to us testing the sound by now. We try to keep things simple and just make sure the music keeps playing until the party is over. It’s a lot of lifting and late nights, but that’s just how it goes in this line of work around Dhanbad.
