Jagdish Singh Farmer Producer Company Limited is located in Village Dehari, which is in the Post Kotwari area of Rasara. We run things from Vinod Kumar Singh’s place. It’s a regular village house where we keep all the files and meet up when we aren't busy in the fields. Rasara is a place where farming is the main thing everyone does, so it felt natural to start a company that brings us all together. We spend a lot of our time talking about the crops we are growing and how the soil is holding up after the last season. It’s not a fancy operation with shiny desks; we mostly just sit around and talk about what needs to be done next. The village of Dehari is pretty small, so you can usually find one of us walking around or working nearby. We wanted to make sure that the farmers here have a bit more say in how things are sold and handled. It takes a lot of effort to keep everything moving, and we are still figuring out some of the business parts as we go. Sometimes we get together in the evenings to share news or just have some tea after a long day of work. It’s a decent way to live, even if the work is hard and the hours are long. We are just glad to be doing it together in our own village.
