Growing mushrooms takes a lot of attention, and that’s what we do here in Gader village. Our small group is based out of Vijaya Shahi’s house, which is House Number 123 if you’re looking for it. It’s not hard to find us if you’re coming through Khukhundu near Salempur. We started this company because growing mushrooms is a bit different from farming rice or wheat, and we needed a way to help each other with the temperature and humidity stuff. It can be a bit tricky when the weather changes suddenly. We spend most of our time in the dark sheds checking on the bags and making sure everything is damp enough. It’s quiet work, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes we sit around in the evenings at the house and talk about how the latest batch is looking. We don’t have any big machinery or anything like that, just our hands and some basic tools to keep things moving. Sometimes the bags don't sprout like they should, and we have to figure out why, which is why it's good to have other growers to talk to. We try to help the folks around here get their mushrooms to the people who want to buy them without too much trouble. It’s just a group of neighbors trying to make a living off what we can grow in our backyard sheds. We are just regular people working hard to make this work.
