V K Transformers

Out here in the Naresh Park Extension, things are pretty industrial. We’re located at C-38/3 on the Najafgarh Road in Nangloi. V K Transformers is where we handle the heavy electrical stuff. It’s loud, it’s often very hot, and there’s usually a lot of oil and copper wire laying around. We build and fix transformers for various uses. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean. Most of the guys here have grease on their shirts by ten in the morning. We’ve been in this part of Nangloi for years. The road outside can be a nightmare with the big trucks and dust, but it’s where we need to be for this kind of work. The workshop is big enough for what we do, but it feels small when we have three big units in for repair at the same time. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledger and a few chairs for visitors. It’s a practical business. If the lights go out in a factory nearby, they usually call us to come take a look. We just focus on getting the coils wound right and making sure the casing is tight. It’s hard work, and the floors are never really clean no matter how much we sweep. But we like it this way. It’s honest work and it keeps the neighborhood’s power running. We’re just regular people doing a tough job every single day.
