Being out in Nangloi Udyog Nagar means we see a lot of trucks and workers every day. Our place is at number 35. It is mostly a practical area, not really for window shopping or anything like that. We get here early because the traffic on the main road can be a real headache if you leave it too late. The workspace inside is filled with tools and parts for the electronics we handle. It can get pretty loud with all the machinery nearby in other units. We usually have the fan going full blast during the summer months. There is a small tea stall just a few doors down where we get our morning chai. It’s a good way to start the day before the first lot of work comes in. We mostly deal with people from the surrounding industrial units who need things looked at or replaced. The shelves are packed with components and older boards that might come in handy one day. I try to keep things organized, but when we get busy, it’s hard to stay on top of the mess. By mid-afternoon, the sun hits the front of the building and we have to pull the shade down a bit. It’s just regular work, nothing too complicated, but it keeps us on our feet all day. We close up when the light starts to go and the shift workers are heading home to their families.
