Standard Power Systems

You can find Standard Power Systems in Mehrauli, Ward 1, at 30/4. We work with batteries, inverters, and all that kind of stuff that keeps the lights on when the power goes out. Mehrauli is an old area, so the electricity can be a bit unpredictable, especially during the summer months. Our shop is usually full of heavy black batteries sitting on the floor. It’s not the cleanest place because battery lead and grease tend to get everywhere, no matter how much you scrub. We spend a lot of time lifting heavy things and moving them onto the backs of scooters or small trucks. It’s physical work, and my clothes usually have a few spots on them by the end of the shift. We aren’t experts in fancy marketing; we just know which battery works for which house. People come to us when their lights stop working, and they’re usually in a bit of a bad mood because of it. We just try to get them sorted as quickly as we can. The shop is at 30/4, and it’s been there for quite a while. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who know the technical side of things. It’s a bit of a messy business, but someone has to do it. We just keep our tools ready and wait for the next person to walk in.
