We have been sitting here at number 342 on the Main Road in Azad Market for quite a few years now. If you know this area, you know how it gets during the morning hours. It is just non-stop noise and people moving boxes around every which way. We started out as a small trading outfit and we haven't really changed the way we do things much over time. The shop itself is tucked into the row, and sometimes the sign gets a bit dusty because of all the traffic and soot outside, but we don't really mind it. Most of the folks who come to see us are people we’ve known for a decade or more. We deal with all sorts of goods, whatever is in demand or what we can get a good handle on. The office in the back is where most of the paperwork happens, usually over a cup of tea that has probably gone cold because the phone rang again. It isn't a fancy place with glass windows or air conditioning. Just a regular spot where we get our work done and go home at the end of the day. Some days the logistics are a bit of a headache with the trucks blocking the narrow lanes, but that is just life in Azad Market. We keep the ledger updated by hand mostly. It’s a simple way to live, just trading and talking to the regulars who drop by to check on prices. We’ve seen the market change quite a bit, but our little corner stays pretty much the same.
