Shri Vardhman Plastic Industry

Out here in Narela, at Plot No C 539 in the DSIDC Industrial Park at Bhor Garh, the machines never really seem to stop. Shri Vardhman Plastic Industry is where we spend most of our waking hours. It is hot in the summer because of the molding machines, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We make all sorts of plastic items that people use without thinking much about them in their daily lives. There are stacks of raw pellets in one corner and finished crates in another. The floor is concrete and hard on the feet, so we all wear thick shoes to get through the day. It is a noisy place, and you have to raise your voice to be heard over the hum of the equipment. We don't have a fancy office upstairs; we just have a small desk near the main door where we keep the logs and the delivery notes. Sometimes a batch doesn't come out quite right and we have to start over, which is frustrating, but it happens to everyone in this trade. We know the other folks in the industrial park and we look out for each other when things get tough. It’s a lot of manual work and checking the settings on the machines to make sure everything works. We take pride in just doing the work every day and getting the orders out to the trucks waiting in the yard. It's not glamorous, but it's what we do.
