Ravinder Kumar Rawat here. I’m usually the one you'll see if you walk into 196 on the main road in Tis Hazari. It’s a loud spot because of all the traffic outside, but you get used to the horns after a week or two. My family has been around this area for a long time, so I know the streets well. The shop—or office, whatever you want to call it—is mostly just where I keep my records and meet people. It’s not renovated. The floor tiles are the same ones from twenty years ago. I haven't seen a real reason to change them. We handle a lot of different things throughout the day. It’s never really the same two days in a row. Sometimes it’s quiet, and I just sit and read the paper. Other times, three people are waiting at once and it's a mess. I don't have a secretary or anyone to answer the phone, so if I’m busy, it just rings. That's how it goes when you run things yourself. People know I’m reliable, even if I’m a bit slow with the typing sometimes. I use an old computer that takes its time to start up in the morning. If you're in a big hurry, maybe come back tomorrow when things are calmer. I’m just trying to get through the stack on my desk. I keep a jar of hard candy on the counter for visitors.
