Tis Hazari is a place where you always feel like you’re in the middle of something big. Ranbir Singh Malik has a spot here, between units 271 and 283. It’s a busy environment with people rushing around with black coats and bundles of documents tied in red string. The office itself is quite narrow and filled with shelves from floor to ceiling. These shelves are packed with files that go back years. You can hear the hum of the city and the occasional siren from outside. We usually start the day with a glass of water and a look at the to-do list. There’s no air of self-importance here; it’s just a lot of hard work and reading. The lightbulbs are a bit dim, but they get the job done. Sometimes we have to move stacks of paper just to find a place to put down a tea cup. It’s the kind of place where the furniture is worn down because it gets used all day, every day. We don’t have a website or a social media page because we’re too busy dealing with the people who walk through the door. If you’re looking for a polished corporate environment, this isn’t it. But if you want a place where people actually know their way through a pile of paperwork, this is where we stay.
