Ramesh Chander Vohra

If you walk through the halls of Patiala House Courts and find room number 223, that is where I usually am. My name is Ramesh Chander Vohra. I have spent a huge chunk of my life within these stone walls. It is a place that never really sleeps during the day. There is always the sound of footsteps and voices echoing in the corridors. My room is tucked away, filled with stacks of files and books that I have collected over the decades. It might look messy to someone else, but I know exactly where every single sheet of paper is located. The lighting in the court building is a bit dim in some parts, but my desk has a good lamp. I see all sorts of people coming through here, from nervous families to busy clerks. I don't go in for fancy decorations or modern furniture. I prefer my old wooden desk and the chair that has finally molded to my shape. It gets very busy during the peak hours, and sometimes I barely have time to grab a bite to eat. But that is just how it is when you work in the legal heart of the city. I find it satisfying to finish a long day and lock up room 223, knowing I handled everything that came my way. It is a demanding environment, but it is the one I know best.
