We are based at Site 1 inside the Patiala House Courts. If you have ever had to go to court, you know it is a place full of nervous energy and a lot of people in black coats rushing around. Our spot is right in the thick of it. It’s not a large space, just enough for a desk and some chairs where we can talk to people. Being at Patiala House means we are constantly dealing with the legal system, whether it is filing papers or waiting for a hearing. The noise of the crowds outside is something you just have to live with. We spend our days drinking tea from the local vendors and going through stacks of legal documents that seem to never end. It’s a very specialized kind of work being right on the court grounds. We see people from all walks of life who are usually having a pretty stressful day. We just try to provide a bit of help with whatever paperwork they are dealing with. It is a very old-fashioned way of working, with a lot of face-to-face talk and handwriting things on official forms. We don't have any modern gadgets or a fancy website. People find us because we are here at Site 1 every day. It is a busy, often dusty environment, but it’s where we belong and where we do our work.
