R S Hegde

Working out of Parliament Street means there is always something happening outside the windows. At R S Hegde, we spend most of our hours dealing with heaps of papers and files that seem to grow on their own. It’s an old-school way of doing things, maybe, but it works for us and our clients. The building has that specific smell of old paper and morning tea. It can get pretty crowded around here during the day, especially with all the people moving between the different government offices. We usually start the day by clearing the desk from whatever was left the night before. Sometimes the phones ring more than we’d like, but that’s just how a normal day goes in this part of town. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees; it's just a small group of us trying to stay on top of the workload. Lunch usually happens at the desk or sometimes a quick walk nearby if the weather isn't too harsh. You see all sorts of people on Parliament Street, and after a while, you recognize the regulars who work in the nearby blocks. It’s a bit formal around here because of the location, but inside our doors, it’s just us being ourselves. We don't have a glossy brochure or a big sign. We just handle the tasks as they come in. There’s always another deadline or another set of documents to sort through. It keeps us busy from Monday to Friday, and sometimes even on a Saturday if the work piles up.
