R P Tyagi is located right on the Tis Hazari Main Road, specifically at B 87. Being on the main road means it’s never really quiet here. You can hear the horns and the movement of the city all day long. The office itself is tucked into the building, and once you’re inside, it’s a bit more manageable. We’ve got shelves lining the walls because there’s always something that needs to be filed away. The floor is that old-style tile that stays cool even when it’s hot outside. I usually get in early before the traffic really picks up. My desk is right near the back because it’s a bit darker there and easier to see the screen. We have an old clock on the wall that ticks quite loudly, but I don’t even notice it anymore. People drop by frequently since we are so close to the main thoroughfare. It’s a busy spot, and there’s always a sense of movement. We don’t have any big leather couches or fancy art on the walls. It’s just a functional space with some sturdy tables and enough light to see what we’re doing. Sometimes the tea man comes by with a tray, and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. We just focus on the tasks at hand and try to stay on top of the pile of things to do. It’s a basic, honest workspace for the day-to-day grind.
