My place is located on the first floor right in the middle of the Mangolpuri Marble Market. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know how busy and dusty it gets with all the heavy stone being moved around by the workers. I’ve been working from this specific spot for quite a while now. It’s not a showroom with bright lights or polished floors. It’s just a basic office where I handle my daily business. Being in the marble market means there is always a lot of noise from the trucks and the cutting machines running outside. I don’t mind the sound much anymore. To me, it’s just the sound of work getting done in the neighborhood. I mostly deal with people who are looking for specific types of stone or help with their home projects. I don’t have a staff of twenty people running around. It’s usually just me or maybe one other person helping me out with the heavy lifting. I keep my files on the old wooden desk and try to stay organized, though it doesn’t always look very neat. People come up the stairs and we sit down to talk about what they need. I don’t use any sales pitches or try to convince anyone to buy things they don't need. I just show what’s available and tell them the price plainly. It’s an honest way to make a living in Mangolpuri.
